Pioneer Member, Board Director

The Muskoka Community Land Trust was created in response to the District of Muskoka’s Housing and Homelessness Task Force in 2019, and was formally incorporated as a non-profit in 2021.  The MCLT is dedicated to non-profit housing development with a strong emphasis on sustainability and affordability. 

Its mission is to build homes that not only provide shelter, but also promote community health and well-being while minimizing environmental impact. By prioritizing energy efficiency and utilizing sustainable building materials, we aim to create a model for affordable housing that can serve as a blueprint for future developments.

The BestLife Group’s contribution is to help establish and promote land holdings in Muskoka for the development of affordable, accessible and attainable housing solutions. Committee Member

The Muskoka Housing Task Force (MHTF) The MHTF is a dynamic group of community members, Municipal Councillors, and staff from the District and Muskoka’s Area Municipalities who are dedicated to supporting the creation and maintenance of affordable and attainable housing in Muskoka. The MHTF 2.0 functions as an advisory body to the District and explores and recommends strategies and opportunities for a range of housing options across Muskoka. The MHTF 2.0 recognizes that solving the housing crisis will take multi-levels of government and community wide efforts. As a dedicated committee member, BestLife group’s role is to advocate and drive forward changes collaboratively. We believe in a community that includes housing for everyone.

General Contractor

The Best Life Group is honoured to be awarded the contract for design/builder for Hospice Huntsville’s Capital Expansion Project in 2024.  The 3,400 SF addition will provide an additional residential care suite, a spacious community room, offices, storage and utility rooms.  A glass breezeway will provide a natural retreat for residents and their families.

In the spirit of community, this project embraces all opportunities for fundraising, gifts in-kind, and material donations.

Past Board Member

The Friends is a non-profit, charitable organization providing supportive services at a community level to disabled individuals and frail, elderly seniors through programs, services and affordable accessible housing. As a past board member, Best Life served to support the work of the agency across the Districts of Muskoka and Parry Sound and advocated to move forward on strategic initiatives.
